Letter from the Chairman, July 2017

Dear Readers,

July is an important month for the Patient Safety Movement Foundation, as it marks the official countdown to our annual Midyear Planning Meeting in Fairfax, Virginia. At this meeting, thought leaders and experts from around the world gather to collectively determine what core patient safety challenges are killing patients today and then work hard to develop Actionable Patient Safety Solutions (APSS) to reduce the estimated 200,000 preventable deaths our U.S. hospitals face each year, as well as the 3,000,000 preventable deaths that affect us worldwide.

I encourage your hospital to make a commitment today! For the third year, the top two healthcare institutions that have committed to saving the greatest number of lives through their commitments will be invited to attend an exclusive fishing trip in Georgia with former President Jimmy Carter and first lady Rosalynn Carter. Review the competition rules and make a commitment by August 1, 2017.

Enjoy our July Newsletter.

Best,

Joe Kiani
