The World Patient Safety, Science & Technology Summit is the preeminent global patient safety conference that connects the dots between all stakeholders who are passionate about improving patient safety. Seven “World Summits” have taken place and the eighth which was due to take place in March 2020 was postponed days before due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the uncertainty around gathering the postponement resulted in deferring this event to early 2022. The Patient Safety Movement Foundation team pivoted to provide education through other means during the pandemic focusing on educating – both clinical and general public audiences – via webinar, video interviews posted on YouTube, and the #uniteforsafecare event around World Patient Safety Day.
We do intend to host the first virtual World Patient Safety, Science & Technology Summit in early 2022 to be sensitive to some regions that may still not be able to travel due to lingering pandemic restrictions.
We plan on bringing everyone back face-to-face in 2023 with a virtual option for those who would like to join virtually.
