Robin Betts is the Vice Chair of the Governing Board for the Patient Safety Movement Foundation. A leader in clinical innovation and the implementation of safety improvement initiatives, she has helped to advance Kaiser Permanente’s nation-leading excellence in quality, patient safety, and mental health services as Vice President for Quality, Clinical Effectiveness & Regulatory Services in Northern California. As part of the regional executive team, this role involves overseeing the provision of integrated healthcare services for around four million members across 21 medical centers.

Beginning her career as a pediatric and neonatal intensive care unit nurse, Betts has since spent more than four decades dedicating her professional life to promoting ways to elevate safety and quality in healthcare, from the wards to executive leadership positions. Prior to her current role at Kaiser Permanente, she served as Assistant Vice President for Quality and Patient Safety for more than five years at Intermountain Healthcare, the largest healthcare provider in the Intermountain West of the United States.
